Meeting Minutes
Chimacum Drainage District
Special Meeting – Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
This is an in-person meeting

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Chair Taggart at the appointed time.
PUBLIC COMMENTS: Conservation District staff George Sidley commented on working together.
APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES: Chair Taggart moved to approve the meeting minutes of
May 12 and 28, 2026 as presented. Commissioner Boggs seconded the motion which carried by a
unanimous vote.
UPDATE re: In the matter of reactivation of Drainage District No. 1, also known as Chimacum
Drainage District, pursuant to RCW 85.38.220: Jefferson County Commissioner Heidi Eisenhour
reviewed the Chimacum Drainage District reinstatement.
DISCUSSION re: Financial Resolution: CDD members discussed moving forward in adopting the
Jefferson County Library District fiscal management policy provided in meeting after going over each
bullet point and making amendments. After discussion, a new draft will be presented in next meeting.
Also discussed adopting investment of funds policy from the library.
DISCUSSION re: Budget: CDD members discussed the draft budget for 2025 to 2026. Chair Taggart
moved to approve the draft budget. Commissioner Sims seconded the motion which carried by a
unanimous vote.
DISCUSSION re: Priority projects for the future: CDD members discussed future projects that the
Conservation District is currently working on. Chair Taggart made a motion for the Chimacum Drainage
District to support the Conservation District’s Glendale and Kessler projects. Commissioner Boggs
seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. Also discussed were avenues for funding
future projects.
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS and CLOSING REMARKS: Future meeting topics may include a
presentation by Glenn Gately on creek temperatures, and making flyers to hand out at farmers market
and other local events.
ADJOURNMENT: Chair Taggart adjourned the meeting at 6:10 p.m.
