This new website and virtual guidebook connects you with the water-based stories of Washington’s Tribes in one place: their voices, their waters, their traditions, and the places where you can experience it all firsthand. <https://mcusercontent.com/907c69b081f5ea7a5b595e058/images/a4deabaf-8185-8af1-211c-0ab73411c620.jpeg> The pilot guide launches with the Suquamish and Squaxin Island Tribes, two nations whose relationships with the Salish Sea run deeper than any map can show. On Thursday, July 9, we’ll celebrate this new resource with the Suquamish Tribe, complete with activities for the whole family! We'll have activities for everyone at the event! What you can look forward to: * Be amongst the first members of the public to demo the new guide and hear from those who created it. * Participate in hands-on activities led by experts from the Suquamish Tribe, including cedar weaving, Lushootseed language lessons, and shellfish identification. * Watch the premiere of a new original video on Suquamish maritime heritage. * Enjoy light snacks and refreshments while taking in the waterfront views.
