Hello County and City Commissioners and Administrators,
I am writing as Board Chair of the County ACAC (Accessible Community Advisory Committee) encouraging you to facilitate the signing of contracts to the various grant applicants that were
awarded grants from the state GCDE through our local ACAC process. <https://accessiblecommunities.wa.gov/get-funding/how-get-funding> I have been a Board Member for 10+ years and
Board Chair for a year. In that time I have seen how much our County and City have benefitted from the ACAC grants.

projects awaiting your signatures. This video was created by Bonnie Obremski in Public Health, who is the ACAC director.
Grants totaling just over $30,000 were awarded on May 13th to 5 different agencies in our County. They will benefit countless community members in the City and County. Our committee
is aware of the process that is required to get contracts in place, and we understand that new staffing in legal review led to some delays in the process. The only delay now is required
signatures from BOCC and City administrators.
As Summer is upon us, I urge you to prioritize signing the contracts so we can get the new swings and spinners at Chetzemoka Park, obtain accessible picnic tables and seating for the
Larry Scott Trail, more accessible seating for the Jefferson County Historical and Art Museum, and the first in our County, Access Trax <https://accesstraxsd.com/> that Blue Heron
Middle School and the Tool Library collaborated on to ensure access for all at a variety of locations. These mats will be available on loan to public and private entities for improved
access at a variety of events. We have already had requests for these, but the PTSD can't order them until the contracts are signed.
Thank you for all you do. We look forward to sharing signed contracts with the recipients of the ACAC grants soon. Let's share some good news about improving our community without
any increased taxes to do it! These grants are funded by a portion of fees collected from people parking illegally in handicapped parking spots. Good karma for us.
