Agreement to Re-Open Lake Leland Campground by Volunteers

Statement of Issue:
Lake Leland Campground has been closed for one year. Local volunteers working
through the Adopt-A-Park program have committed to re-openlng the Campground
this spring, and operating it at little cost to the County. The Advisory Board has
reviewed and recommended this project.
Analysis/Strategic GoalslPro's & Con's:
Lake Leland Campground Is a resource to the community. It attracts tourists, provides
healthy recreation, supports access to freshwater actMtles at the Lake Leland
Lakefront County Park, and builds community. This project supports County strategic
goals numbers 2, 3, 5, 8, and 9.
FlscallmpactlCost Benefit Analysis:
Fees raised at the Campground will be used to pay for the direct costs. Indirect costs
have been held to a minimum. A budget extension based on the fee revenue will be
required in the third quarter.
Recommendation:
Approve the MOU and re-open the Lake Leland Campground. Recognize Curtis Stacey
and Tanya Royer, Volunteers, who will be present at the signing. Participate In a
photo op.
