Statement of Issue: Property owners adjacent to and southerly of the Broad Spit Park property (approximately 28.06 acres) have requested, through the Parks and Recreation Division of the Department of Public Works, a roadway and utility easement to legitimize the existing access roadway being approximately 571 feet long by 60 feet wide, encumbering approximately 0.78 acres. Analysis/Strategic GoalslPro's 8: Con's: The Department of Public Works has viewed the site and confirms the long standing use of the access roadway. The Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board has reviewed the request and is supportive of the access easement solution. FiscallmpactlCost Benefit Analysis: The property owners have agreed to pay all administrative costs for the development of the subject easement, compensation for acquiring the easement and all future maintenance expenses for the roadway and utilities. Parks and Recreation Advisory Board recommend approval of the attached Access Easement to establish maintenance responsibility by the owners benefited by the subject easement.
