Peters, County Administrator From: Sarah Mel~irector Re: Tourism Program Coordinator Job Description and Cost On June 29, 2026, Commissioner Dudley-Nollette requested development of a draft Tourism Program Coordinator job description. The purpose of the position is to assist with program management, administration and support of Jefferson County tourism, marketing and economic development in collaboration with the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) and the Tourism Coordinating Council (TCC). The position cost is proposed to be supported by a grant from LTAC to the TCC. Attached is a draft Tourism Program Coordinator Job Description. While based on a similar job description developed in 2024, this draft description focuses on tourism program and marketing consultant management. The position would be located in the County Administrator's Office and report to the County Administrator. Based on a review of positions both within and external to Jefferson County, the recommended wage rate is UFCW Grade 30- a union covered position eligible for benefits. The current annual cost for a 0.5 FTE at Grade 30, Step 1 is $42,980.08. For more granular detail, the current annual cost for wages and benefits for both a 1.0 FTE and 0.5 FTE is detailed below: UFCW Grade 30 Step 1 Step 8 Hourly $31.79 $39.10 Monthly $5,510.27 $6777.33 Annual $66,123.20 $81,328.00 Total Wage+ 30% Benefit Cost - Based on Step 1 Step 1 Step 8 1.0 FTE $85,960.16 $105,726.40 0.5 FTE $42,980.08 $52,863.20 Please review the draft job description and let me know of any revisions.
