Hello County Leaders!
As we prepare for the NACo 2026 Annual Conference, I’ve been reflecting on what it truly takes to support our communities today.
Our counties are facing massive, competing local pressures every day. We aren't just handling a single issue at a time; we must balance a massive scope of responsibilities from managing
local healthcare and hospitals, maintaining our roads, bridges, and infrastructure, and running our justice systems, while navigating modern technology demands.
To tackle a scope this wide, we need a broad, united vision rooted in our core priorities:
* Advancing Fiscal Strength: Securing direct, flexible federal funding that reflects local needs.
* Lifting Local Leaders: Retaining local control so we can solve our own unique community challenges.
* Helping Regions Thrive: Protecting taxpayer dollars with long-term fiscal tools and longer spending timelines so critical funding isn't lost.
When everyone has a seat at the table, our counties prosper. As your next 2nd Vice President, my goal is to lift and empower local leaders, protect local control, and advance the fiscal
strength we need to handle all of these local pressures together.

As local leaders, we must retain the ability to meet the unique needs of our communities. Local control is key to a sustainable future.
Help Local Regions Thrive:
We must secure fiscal tools and resources to plan long-term, invest in infrastructure and protect taxpayer dollars. Push for longer spending timelines to prevent counties from losing
critical funding.
Building a Better Future for Every Community:
