While "Keep Public Lands in Public Hands" is a compelling sentiment, the current federal government has not chosen to be a protective caretaker of our public lands.
For this reason, I am writing to express my support for Liz Hoenig's recent Letter to the Editor regarding the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe. As she noted, "the Jamestown S’Klallam tribal
government is more established, stable, and dedicated to environmental protection than the federal government."
Keeping the Federal Government involved with Protection Island and Dungeness National Wildlife Refuges does not seem in the best interest of these natural resources.
