Dear Management Committee Members,
This is a reminder to please return any feedback on COWI's HCB Conceptual Bridge Design by Monday, July 20th, 2026, at noon, and a big "Thank you" to those of you who have already responded
to let me know you plan to provide feedback. LLTK greatly values your input as we want to ensure the MC takes advantage of this moment in time when we have a bridge engineering team
with the capacity to respond to our questions. Feel free to share with the appropriate staff in your organization, but we ask that you keep this draft internal to member organizations.
Please see notes on the review process, below, and reach out to me if you have any questions.
Thank you!
Shaara

Subject: For your review: HCB Conceptual Bridge Design Report by COWI
Dear Management Committee Members,
I'm reaching out to you as representatives of the MC member organizations to ask for your feedback and input on the conceptual bridge design developed by COWI and presented at yesterday's
Management Committee meeting. We are offering thirty (30) days for the review process, so please return any feedback to us by Monday, July 20th, 2026 at noon.
This document is intended to offer an important stepping stone to guide our group's planning efforts for the next few years. LLTK greatly values your input as we want to ensure the MC
takes advantage of this moment in time when we have a bridge engineering team with the capacity to respond to our questions. We ask you to consider two questions:
*
Does this provide enough information to communicate to your colleagues/constituencies/communities about this concept design process, and the preferred design? [i.e., Are there questions
you have that are not addressed here? Do you have any concerns about the way the information is presented?]
*
What more do we need to know to understand the tradeoffs of replacement vs. maintaining the current bridge? [i.e., based on the information in this report what should be our next steps,
and is that conveyed sufficiently here?]
A few notes on this review process:
*
We ask that you please keep this draft document internal to the Management Committee member organization staff at this point in the process. As we discussed yesterday, there are manyf
nuances and caveats to this work, and we would like to be thoughtful about how to convey the information ahead of any public release.
*
Please offer feedback to LLTK and COWI either through adding sticky note comments to the PDF (preferred), or via email to me with specific PDF page numbers for reference.
*
This report draft was completed prior to yesterday's meeting, so it does not reflect the feedback given yesterday. We will ask COWI to include that in the final draft. [e.g., we have
a note to reframe the language around 'largest bridge of this type in North America']
*
I have not attached the appendices as they are a large file, but I can send a link for anyone if they find that they would like to see what is in the Appendix of the report.
If you have any questions or concerns please give me a call or send me an email. I'm happy to chat with you and/or your staff.
Best,
Shaara
