Honorable County Executives, County Commissioners, Mayors and Council Members,
Gillespie County Commissioners signed a Resolution opposing the development of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Gillespie County Texas. Also, included in the resolution was their
support for the proposed legislation State Representative Ellen Troxclair introduced to mitigate the risks presented by the operation of the BESS projects. Troxclair and State Representative
Wes Virdell introduced 2 House bills. One would give cities and counties regulation power over certain electric energy storage facilities and the other would require entities to obtain
permits from the Public Utility Commission before installing a BESS.

had the most.
