Two weeks of overnight road repairs in Clallam and Jefferson counties begin Monday, July 20
PORT ANGELES – Travelers who use state roads in Clallam and Jefferson counties will see two weeks of overnight roadwork.
From 9 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. the following morning, Monday through Thursday, Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will perform seasonal asphalt repairs.
Monday, July 20 through Thursday, July 23, WSDOT crews will work one or more nights on US 101 in Clallam County at the following locations:
* Both directions at Indian Creek Bridge west of Port Angeles.
* Southbound at River Road in Sequim.
* Both directions near Simdars Road in Sequim.
Monday, July 27 through Thursday, July 30, WSDOT crews will work one or more nights on state routes in Jefferson County including:
* SR 20 at US 101 in Discovery Bay.
* SR 20 near Eaglemount Road.
* SR 19 at Prospect Way.
* SR 104 roundabout at SR 19.
* SR 104 at Garten Road.
During repairs travelers can expect reduced speeds, one-way alternating traffic controlled by flaggers, and occasional stops of up to 5 minutes approaching work zones.
Asphalt repairs require warm, dry weather and may be rescheduled if it rains.
Whenever near work zones please:
* Slow down – drive the posted speeds, they're there for everyone’s safety.
* Be kind – workers are out there helping to keep everyone safe and improve the roadways.
* Pay attention – both to workers directing traffic and to fellow travelers.
* Stay calm – expect delays, leave early or take alternate routes if possible.
