A grizzly mother will spend years protecting and teaching her cubs how to survive. Yet a new Trump administration proposal could expose more grizzlies to deadly threats.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recently proposed weakening Endangered Species Act protections for grizzlies in the Lower 48 by revising the rules that regulate when these bears can
be killed, injured, or harassed.
It took decades to put grizzly bears on the path to recovery. Undermining grizzly protections now could undo that progress. It's time to tell the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service: no rollbacks,
no weakening -- keep grizzly protections strong.

The Trump administration is attempting to undermine Endangered Species Act protections piece by piece, putting some of our nation's most vulnerable wildlife at greater risk. Now, grizzly
bears are in its crosshairs.
A few days ago, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced proposed changes that would weaken protections for grizzly bears under the Endangered Species Act. The changes could lead
to more grizzly bear deaths by creating new exceptions in the rules that prohibit killing, injury, and harassment of grizzlies in the Lower 48 states.
The proposal includes new, vaguely explained avenues and processes to handover decisions about lethal removals to states, exempt killing that occurs from the trapping of other species,
and lift restrictions on mortality and injury that occurs during activities not targeting the bears themselves.
Take action now! Send a comment to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service telling them to keep grizzly bear protections strong and stop any weakening of safeguards for these iconic bears.
