PUD's rollout of its broadband system has been a disgrace. When first announced in 2022, service was promised in 2023. Then delivery moved to 2024, 2025, and 2026. This past April, PUD
told The Leader that installations on Marrowstone would begin in June. Never happened. When asked for an update, I was told yesterday that the target is now this winter!
This is just unacceptable. Actually it's deceitful. I realize that PUD is not accountable to County Commissioners. But as our elected representatives, you have a responsibility to speak
out on our behalf and object to this disregard for your constituents. PUD has offered a variety of excuses for being years behind schedule. At no point, however, have they admitted
the obvious. There are simply too few boots on the ground doing the work.
