SUBJECT: ADVISORY BOARD APPOINTMENTS (3) re: Climate Action Committee;
Lachlan Carey, Brian Roach and Melissa Spear
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
The Climate Action Committee currently has three open positions which have been advertised.
Numerous applications were accepted. Upon review by the Climate Action Committee and chair,these
applications were sent to the Chair of the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), Greg Brotherton and
the Mayor of the City of Port Townsend, Amy Howard, for approval.
ANALYSIS:
The Chair of the BOCC, Greg Brotherton and the City of Port Townsend Mayor Howard have reviewed the
letters of interest and the recommendation forwarded by the CAC review group. Chair Brotherton and
Mayor Howard recommend the following individuals to serve on the CAC:
1. Appointment of Lachlan Carey—Position 4, Term expires December 31, 2029
2. Appointment of Brian Roach—Position 13, Unexpired term expires December 31, 2027
3. Appointment of Melissa Spear—Position 14, Unexpired term expires December 31, 2026
RECOMMENDATION
Approve Jefferson County and City of Port Townsend staff recommendations for appointments for the Climate
Action Committee vacancies. Appointments are final once both the City of Port Townsend and Jefferson
County Commissioners have approved the applicants.
