Good morning.
Wanted to share this with you.
The Senate will have a procedural vote on the motion to proceed to the CR and final vote will occur later this week. This is dependent on getting 60 votes. Vote will occur at 2:30pm
PT/5:30pm ET.
Senator Murray spearheaded this effort and Senator Cantwell supports it as well.
Thank you.

Dear NACIRO members -
Reaching out with exciting news - the Senate's FY 2027 Continuing Resolution <https://link.edgepilot.com/x/g2CuMco_PQlEFIO-TFWz1xM?u=https://www.appropriations.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/division_a_co
ntinuing_appropriations_act_2027_appropriations_committee.pdf> (released yesterday) includes a provision that blocks OMB from finalizing its Uniform Guidance proposed rule through December
11. It also closes the loophole where OMB could've rushed to finalize the rule right before the CR passes. NACo had been working with Senate offices over the last few weeks, and sent
a letter <https://link.edgepilot.com/x/amFzUZRpwLTh1MXgX3PZh4c?u=https://naco.sharefile.com/d-s06feabd9606c4b6bb39faa2faeba2a09> to Sens. Thune, Schumer, Colllins and Murray urging
the delay last Friday.
Bottom line here is that no new Uniform Guidance rule can take effect before December 11, which buys us time to keep working toward a permanent fix.
Thank you to each of you for your role in making this happen. Really appreciate the partnership throughout this.
In terms of next steps - NACo is reiterating that we need to keep the pressure on so this survives to becoming law. Specifically, we are asking county leaders to:
1.
Reach out to your Senators - thank them for including the provision and urge them to support passage of the CR.
2.
Reach out to your Representatives - encourage them to support the Senate's CR language once it comes to the House.
Thank you again for your partnership!!
Eryn
