Resolution No. 18-1)_
WHEREAS, on September 15,2010, the City of Port Townsend and Jefferson County signed an inter-local
agreement for a Sales Tax Ballot Measure and to convene the Exploratory Regional Parks and Recreation Committee;
and
WHEREAS, existing mcmbers of the committee have recruited nc\\' alternate members to attend \vhen they are
unable to attend; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend has requested that the Jefferson County YMCA be included in the
membership of the Exploratory Regional Parks and Recreation Committee: and
WHEREAS, the intent of the Exploratory Regional Parks and Recreation Committee is for recreation providers
to study existing parks and recreation services and propose new options; and
\VHEREAS, it is beneficial both to the Exploratory Regional Parks and Recreation Committee and to Jefferson
County to include the Jefferson County YMCA in the Exploratory Regional Parks and Recreation Committee.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that a new position for the Jefterson County YMCA should be
created on the Exploratory Regional Parks and Recreation Committee, and the position should be filled by Erica Delma.
Board Member of Jefferson County YMCA.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ALSO RESOLVED, that the following new alternates should be added to the
membership of the Exploratory Regional Parks and Recreation committee: Jim Bettely (alternate for David Anderson),
Jim FlJnaro (alternate for Erica Delma), Yuko Umeda (replaces Julia Oanskin as the alternatc for Jean Bald\vin), Roger

Appointment of Erica Delma to Exploratory Regional Parks and
Recreation Committee
Statement of Issue:
Formal appointment of an additional member, Erica Delma, to the Exploratory Regional Parks
and Recreation Committee (ERPRC) is needed. The membership of the Exploratory Regional
Parks and Recreation Committee is specified in the Inter-local Agreement between the City of
Port Townsend and Jefferson County for a new sales, tax (Prop 1). L\ ..". " ' : ," ,.

Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's:
The City of Port Townsend requested that Erica Delma be appointed to the ERPRC as a
representative of the Jefferson County YMCA, Erica Delma is a member of the YMCA Board
and is interested in being on the ERPRC. The appointment has been discussed by all
concerned parties and there is unanimous agreement that this is a beneficial appointment.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis:
There are no additional fiscal impacts associated with this appointment. The benefits are
inclusion of an important non-profit recreation provider in the ERPRC.
Recommendation:
Resolve the attached resolution to appoint Erica Delma to the ERPRC
