General Chamber Meetings are held the 3rd Monday, monthly, at 5:30 pm and alternate between Quilcene and Brinnon. This month’s meeting is on September 21st at the Brinnon Community Center,
306144 US Highway 101, Brinnon, WA 98320.

The Jefferson County Planning Commission has regularly scheduled meetings on the second and fourth Wednesday (Sept 9 & 23) of each month beginning at 5:30 PM. The meetings are currently
held at the Jefferson County Transit Center at 63 Four Corners Road, Port Townsend, WA 98368.

Board Member Spotlight: Robert Gash, NHCCC’s Board Director
My wife (Kelly) and I live in Brinnon in a home we built 12 years ago. Professionally my work has focused on commerce and logistics across a variety of industries, from manufacturing,
e-commerce, fresh groceries, and even a pharmacy! I also co-founded the community group that brought broadband to Brinnon back in 2017 and again in the lead-up to the fiber upgrade
in 2024.
My work with the chamber has had two major focuses: advocating for better management of the community centers, as well as helping businesses use more advanced analytics to study their
customers and develop new marketing tools. We have a unique role as one of the few organizations focused on south-county issues.
We work hard to balance the need for economic growth and the success of our local businesses with the desire to keep Brinnon special. That's a unique role in Jefferson County, and I'm
proud to be a part of the chamber.

August Recap
How often do you engage or recreate outside in North Hood Canal area?
Local residents, Tribes, and recreation enthusiasts are invited to participate in a community survey that will help guide the future of outdoor recreation access in the North Hood Canal
region.
Laurie Thorpe, Director of the Olympic Peninsula Outdoor Recreation Collaborative, presented at our August 17 member meeting emphasizing the importance of community voices: “This survey
is a practical way for everyone who uses and loves this place to share what matters most for recreation today and for future generations.”
The survey is open from July 13 to October 30, 2026, and is focused on gathering input that will inform land management and visitor use planning along Highway 101 between Brinnon and
Quilcene, including the Dosewallips and Duckabush corridors.
Participants are encouraged to share:
* How and where they recreate in the area (trails, camping, boating, scenic drives)
* Views on key interests and issues (safety, environment, cultural values, economic opportunities)
* Hopes for future recreation and engagement

Hello everyone! North Hood Canal Chamber is thrilled to officially roll out a powerful new benefit for our members: our free Business Market Analysis reports. These reports leverage

However, as our "Simple Guide" in the begging of the report emphasizes, real, lasting growth only happens when your marketing plan and your bank account work together.
Our goal is to help you achieve sustainable growth—converting new demand into long-term profitability without overstretching your operations or depleting your cash flow. Before launching

Quilbilly’s is a local favorite in Quilcene, bringing great food, community spirit, and plenty of hometown character to the area. The owners, Jay & Michaela Kothman, also own the historic
Ajax Café, making them a familiar and valued part of the local business community. These owners have recently been working with NHCCC on workshopping a Business Analysis Report to identify
opportunities for growth, strengthen their businesses, and better serve their customers.
They are a great example of local business owners investing in both their businesses and the community
they call home.
We’re especially grateful for their support of the community and the North Hood Canal Chamber of Commerce—they have generously donated gift cards to be raffled off at the Chamber’s booth
at the Quilcene Fair on September 19! Stop by our booth to enter the raffle, say hello, and learn more about Quilbilly’s, Ajax Café, and other local businesses.
