Deer act as vital hosts that feed, transport, and fuel the reproduction cycles of ticks. They are a primary mating and feeding ground. Tick-borne illnesses are a growing and serious public health problem in Washington state. Deer are the most dangerous and deadly animals in North America due to traffic collisions. They cause an estimated 26,000 to 59,000 injuries every year. As a first responder I have seen countless emergencies caused by deer. Deer cause $1 billion to $10 billion in vehicle damage, medical costs, and property losses across the U.S. each year. While the United States is experiencing severe wildlife declines as part of a broader human-driven extinction crisis, deer are one of the few animals with an increasing population. More deer, more problems. My question for you and your team is this - what is being done to educate the community of the dangers that deer pose, and, what is being done to reduce deer populations given the threat they pose? -- Beau Sylte 9/8/26, 1:25 PM BoHComments - Kaitlin Tapia - Outlook https://outlook.office.com/mail/AAMkADQ5MDI1MDkzLTZlYjQtNDEzOS1iMGUyLTczMTdjMDVhZWMyYwAuAAAAAAA6w6JMg84mQYn2wwFISE9iAQ…1/1
