Statement of Issue:
The issue is requesting execution of the construction change orders for the Oak Bay Road Culvert
Replacement project CR1843, with contractor 2Grade, LLC.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's:
This project is included in the officially adopted 2011-2016 Transportation Improvement Program
as Item No.6. This project is also included in the adopted 2011 road budget and is funded with
local funds.
This project repaired and replaced a deteriorating drainage culvert located on Oak Bay Road at
M.P. 8.947; construction was completed on April 28, 2011. Four construction change orders
were required during construction due to changed conditions in the field.
FiscallmpactlCost Benefit Analysis:
The net cost of the four construction change orders is $7,397.92, to be paid from County road
funds. The original contract amount was $50,610.94
Recommendation:
The attached four construction change orders are recommended for your execution. This action
is recommended, as it will allow for the completion of this project. The Board is asked to sign
the four construction change orders where indicated, and return two signed originals of each
change order to Public Works (attn. John Wayand).
