Parks & Recreation
The mission of Jefferson County Parks and Recreation is to improve the health, welfare, and safety of the citizenry; protect the environment, and promote economic
development through state of the art recreational and educational programs and facilities supported by public tax revenue, fe es,volunteers, grants and private
donations. The vision of Jefferson County Parks and Recreation is not to serve every purpose, but to lead towards cooperation and comprehensive community
solutions.
Utilize stable funding provided by Proposition 1 effectively and sustainably.
Re-store daily and preventative maintenance services that were cut in 2026.
Implement a modest and strategic increase in the current level of parks and recreation services.
Maximize non-tax revenue streams such as fees and donations.
Sustainably increase donations of volunteer labor for recreation programs, maintenance and operations, and policy work.
