The Trump Admin's plans to rescind the Roadless Rule mean places like Heather Maple Loop, Cutthroat Pass, Quinault Lake, the Kettle Range, Lena Lake, and the North Fork of the Teanaway
River could soon be open to logging, drilling, and mining.
We can't let that happen. We need as many people as possible to submit a comment to ensure we are too loud to ignore.

Nationwide, the Roadless Rule protects 45 million acres, including 2 million acres in Washington across parts of the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie, Olympic, Gifford Pinchot, Colville, Umatilla,
and Okanogan-Wenatchee national forests.
Roadless forests are quintessential public lands, supporting countless ways to enjoy the outdoors, from hiking and camping to mountain biking, paddling, skiing, hunting, fishing, and
more. They uphold Tribal treaty rights and lifeways, safeguard clean air and drinking water, and provide invaluable habitat for fish and wildlife.
And because they remain healthy and intact, they are more resilient in a warming climate. While wildfire is noted by the USDA as a reason to repeal the rule, studies show that wildfires
are four times more likely to ignite near roads. Furthermore, the Roadless Rule has always allowed for legitimate and necessary actions to reduce hazardous fuels.
It would be a devastating mistake to throw out such a successful, common-sense policy that has kept industrial development out of our pristine forests for decades. This is a critical
moment for not only those of us in the northwest, but people across the country, to speak up and ensure our country has wildlands for future generations to enjoy.
