Let's talk about protecting our health, climate & economy from data centers

We're all feeling the pain of increased prices and climate impacts following a summer of sky high energy bills, drought, extreme heat, and more.
The growth of data centers is raising demand for polluting fossil fuels like gas and coal, leaving us with dirty air and higher costs while corporations rake in profit.
That's why we're inviting you to a Data Centers Action Hour on Wednesday, Oct 21, to break down what is happening nationally, what it could mean for your community, and how we can demand
accountability. <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=ABB7InYiOjEsImQiOjUwMjR9AAcAAAAAB6daPkzvjhgbJIScw0_vXccIokfaMkyiWClbVsXSKnWefXuFW1Ne62okl5U6eIp6QVnulRZ6cJ6fnIDKMtYabyf31NDMqEP6_rknqcMj8A>

John, here's what's on the line if we don't act.
🌡️ Climate pollution
Just the 12 largest off-grid data centers under construction today will emit more climate pollution than all of the electricity used to power Florida and Pennsylvania. If we keep going
down this path, it could reverse 15 years of US climate pollution reductions in just three.
💸 Energy bills that will continue to rise
When utilities build more gas plants to power data centers, you could be left holding the bill. Our families shouldn't be made to pay the price for polluter profits.
🏭 Air pollution that risks our health
Increased fossil fuel use and diesel-engine backup power also threaten nearby communities with more air pollution. We shouldn't be paying with our health for dirty energy.
