SUBJECT: PROCLAMATION re: Proclaiming October 21,2026 as Support your local
Chamber of Commerce Day
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
The Board of County Commissioners is requested to proclaim Support Local Chambers of Commerce Day
in recondition of the important role local chambers play in supporting businesses, promoting economic
development, and strengthening community partnerships. The proclamation acknowledges their
contributions to Jefferson County and encourages residents and businesses to support and participate in their
local chambers of commers.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners approve proclamation re: Proclaiming October 21, 2026
as Support your local Chamber of Commerce. This recommendation is to recognize and learn more about
local Chambers of Commerce, its impact and support of local businesses.

PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, chambers of commerce strive to address the community's top challenges and greatest
opportunities through bold leadership and innovative problem-solving; and
WHEREAS, chambers of commerce foster stronger, more vibrant communities by advocating for
priorities to promote economic prosperity, enhance quality of life and create access to meaningful employment
and opportunity for all residents; and
WHEREAS, chambers of commerce are champions of communities, serving as a trusted resource for
businesses, residents and other stakeholders; and
WHEREAS, chambers of commerce create catalytic community partnerships to build resilient
economies and promote community-wide prosperity; and
WHEREAS, the North Hood Canal Chamber of Commerce serves as a regional resource for businesses,
nonprofits, community organizations, residents, and visitors throughout Brinnon, Quilcene, and the greater
North Hood Canal area; and
WHEREAS, the North Hood Canal Chamber of Commerce works to strengthen the local economy by
supporting existing businesses, encouraging entrepreneurship, promoting tourism, attracting visitors, and
creating opportunities for economic growth; and
WHEREAS, the North Hood Canal Chamber of Commerce provides opportunities for local businesses
and community organizations to connect, collaborate, share resources, and develop partnerships that benefit the
broader community; and
WHEREAS, the North Hood Canal Chamber of Commerce promotes the North Hood Canal area as a
destination for visitors, helping to increase local spending and support businesses throughout the region; and
WHEREAS, the North Hood Canal Chamber of Commerce recognizes that a healthy local economy
contributes to a strong quality of life, sustainable communities, and increased opportunities for residents and
businesses; and
WHEREAS, North Hood Canal Chamber of Commerce is the only existing chamber in Jefferson
County,
THEREFORE, the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners do hereby proclaim October 21,
2026, as
Support Your Local Chamber of Coininerce Day
in Jefferson County and encourages Jefferson County, WA residents to learn more about their local chamber, its
impact and support of local businesses.
