Inspired by their Italian heritage, love of art and history, and travels around the world, the sisters have created a shop that celebrates intentional living through timeless treasures, natural textures, and beautifully crafted goods. More than a place to shop, House of the Faun is an experience—filled with globally sourced textiles, art, home accents, and heirloom-quality pieces from independent artists and multi-generational makers. Every detail invites you to slow down, explore, and discover something with a story. And this fall brings an exciting milestone! As House of the Faun celebrates its four-year anniversary, the sisters are expanding beyond Port Townsend with the launch of their new online store on November 1. The online collection will bring a taste of the Taylor Street shop to customers near and far—just in time for holiday gifting. Stop in this fall and experience House of the Faun for yourself. Each Halloween, our historic downtown transforms into a festive gathering place filled with costumed kids, families, neighbors, and local merchants sharing in a beloved community tradition. With an estimated 1,500–2,000 attendees, this event does more than bring people downtown. It creates opportunities for meaningful connections between our community and the small businesses that make Port Townsend special. Behind the costumes and candy is something even sweeter: relationships. Families discover businesses they may not have visited before, children get to know the friendly faces behind the storefronts, and merchants have an opportunity to connect with the next generation of customers and community supporters. In fact, according to Main Street America's 2026 Small Business Survey, 30% of Main Street businesses serve as community gathering spaces, reinforcing the important role local businesses play beyond simply selling goods and services. These experiences create lasting memories, strengthen community pride, and help cultivate a sense of belonging. When people feel connected to their downtown, they're more likely to return, shop locally, participate in community traditions, and invest in its future. Because a vibrant downtown isn't built by businesses alone. It's built by the relationships between the people who make it special. That's why Main Street matters. Upcoming Events for Businesses * Main Street Meet Up on Tuesday, October 20th at 10 am at Bishop Bottle Shop * Come Connect, Learn, Hear from Bayside Housing on potential downtown development projects.
