Statement of Issue: On February 12, 2010, Jefferson County and the State Department of Ecology
(Ecology) entered into a two year Agreement whereby the County's Moderate Risk Waste Facility
operations would be partially funded through a Coordinated Prevention Grant (Grant). Total Grant
value, Including a 25% match from the County, is presently $66,279, an estimated 31% of the projected
cost of operatipns over the Grant period. Ecology has secured additional funding and has requested
that the Agreement be amended to allow for an increase in the State's share of the Grant by $15,481.
AnalysislStrategic GoalsJPro's 8: Con's: The attached amendment would allow the County to submit
claims for reimbursable expenses up to an additional $15,481.
FiscallmpacUCost Benefit Analysis: Reimbursable expenses up to and beyond the additional $15,481
have already been incurred through Moderate Risk Waste Facility operations. The attached Amendment
would prOvide some relief to the Salfd Waste Fund which provides for all costs beyond those
reimbursed through the Grant.
Recommendation: Staff recommends approval of the attached Coordinated Prevention Grant No.
G1000400 - Amendment 3.
