STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Jefferson County Public Health, Community Health, Is requesting Board approval of the Medical Servlce
Agreement - United Healthcare Insurance Company; upon signature - until terminated; fee for servlce
ANAL YSIS/S'(8.&-TEGIC GOALS/PRO'S and CON'S:
JCPHcurrently has seven existing practitioner agreements with Insurance companies. This agreement would
allow JCPH to bill and collect for clinic servlces provided to clients who are Insured by United Healthcare. At
this time, there are several JCPH dlents Insured by United Healthcare for which we provide servlces such as
family planning, Immunizations, etc. By becoming a Preferred Provider we Impart a savings to our clients In
out-of-pocket deductlbles and charges. This plan Is a benefit to the patient, as they will choose their
provider accordingly.
FISCAL IMPACT1"O~:tBENEJ:IT_~~AL YSIS:
This Is a fee for servlce contract. Total Insurance collections for 2011 are budgeted at $74,674.
