WHEREAS, the Olympic Peninsula Senior Games will be held on August 26 - 28, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the Nation's Baby Boomers have moved beyond sex, drugs and rock and roll and
embraced health and fitness as a lifestyle; and
WHEREAS, the Olympic Peninsula Senior Games provide the Baby Boomers and everyone 50
years old and above a competitive sporting event; and
WHEREAS, this is the seventh year of the Olympic Peninsula Senior Games; and
WHEREAS, the Senior Games offers 18 Sports and 63 Events over three days in August; and
WHEREAS, over 600 senior athletes are expected to participate; and
WHEREAS, the Senior Games bring together senior athletes from Washington State and around
county and Canada for competition, fellowship and fun; and
WHEREAS, participants in the Olympic Peninsula Senior Games value fitness as a lifestyle and
dedicate themselves to breaking down the stereotypes of aging; and
WHEREAS, Entity pays tribute to the achievements and contributions of athletes 50 years above
and older;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners hereby proclaim the week 0
August 21 - 28, 2011, as

and welcome all participants and spectators attending this event on the Olympic Peninsula
