TO DISPOSE OF SURPLUS
COUNTY PROPERTY )

RESOLUTION NO. 44-11
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the County Commissioners of Jefferson County to dispose of
surplus property; and
WHEREAS, a request bas been received from WSU to dispose of a surplus Television; and
WHEREAS, the requirement ofRCW 36.34.020 that the county legislative authority may dispose
surplus, without public notice if the value is less than two thousand five hundred dollars; and
WHEREAS, a non-profit entity is willing to accept the unit
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of Jefferson County that they
make a finding and determination as required by RCW 36.34.020 to declare the particularly described
property as surplus and allow the Treasurer to proceed with the disposition of said property.

SUBJECT: Disposal of Surplus County Property
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
WSU is dosing a portion of its facility. They have a very large lV set they no longer need.
ANALYSIS:
RON 36.34.020 allows for the disposal of surplus county property without Public Notice If the
value of the property to be disposed of is less than two thousand five hundred dollars.
WSU has attempted t transfer ownership to ali county departments without success. The
Treasurer contacted other agencies, also without success. Due to Its size (52" square by 28"
deep) and new models are more compact and very light (this one weighs a great deal). The
only entity able to accommodate the unit is the TrIArea CommunIty Center managed by

County storage units cannot accommodate this unit. WSU does not want to rent a storage unit

Approve the Disposal of COunty Property with Resolution Notice of Intention to Disposal.
