SUBJECT: Disposal of Surplus County Property
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
WSU is dosing a portion of its fadlity. They have equipment they no longer need.
~NALYSIS:
RON 36.34.020 allows for the disposal of surplus county property wlthout Public Notice If the
vaiue of the property to be disposed of is less than two thousand five hundred dollars.
WSU has attempted to transfer ownership to all county departments wlthout success. They will
continue to offer the equipment to non-profits. If no one wants this property, It will be
diSposed of.

Approve the Disposal of County Property with Resolution Notice of Intention to Disposal.

Declare Certain Personal Property as Surplus
And Authorize Disposal

RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS, certain assets belonging to Jefferson County have been identified as no longer
required for County purposes because they are broken, worn out, or outdated; and
WHEREAS, notice of intention to sell this surplus County property is not required per
RCW 36.34.020 becanse the total value of each item is less than two thousand five hundred dollars
($2,500.00).
THEREFORE BE IT RESOL VED, that the Board of Commissioners hereby declares the property on
attached Exhibit "A" to be surplus and directs WSU Jefferson County Extension to dispose of such
items as follows:
A. Transfer such equipment to any other government that expresses interest
B. Transfer such equipment to any non-profit corporation
C. Take such equipment to a recycling center or the Transfer Station for disposal as
excess
