STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Jefferson County Public Health, Water Quality DMslon, Is requesting the opportunity to update the Board on the status and actlvltles of the North Pacific Coast Marine Resources Committee for western Jefferson and Clallam Counties. ANALYSIS/STRATEGIC GOALS/PRO'S and CON'S: On September 8, 2009, the SoCC signed a joint resolution with Clallam County to form the North Pacific Coast Marine Resources Committee (NPC NRC). MRCs are county- appointed committees created to engage citizens to set priorities and design locally important projects to help understand, steward and restore marine ertvironments. Staff and Interested Jefferson County citizen representatives would like to share information about the current activities and priorities of the committee. Recent NPC MRC efforts have included: · Supporting scientific and educational activities linked to coast resources . Supporting the annual coast-wide beach clean up . The General Fund will not be affected. RECOMMENDAnON: JCPH Management recommends the Board allow staff and Interested citizen representatives to update the Board on the status and activities of the North Pacific Coast Marine Resources Committee.
