Bid Award for Supply of Liquid Asphalt Products for Year 2012

Statement of Issue:
Public Works staff has completed checking bids opened on January 9, 2012 for
Supply of Liquid Asphalt Products for Year 2012 and finds it to be in the County's best
interest to award a Purchase 8: Sale Agreement to Albina Asphalt of Vancouver, WA at
the amounts specified in their bid. .
Analysis/Strategic GoalslPro's 8: Con's:
Bid Award is consistent with the County's goals in that it provides for
maintenance of road infrastructure. This product is used in the County's pavement
preservation program.
FiscallmpactlCost Benefit Analysis:
Purchase of these materials is accounted for in the 2012 Road Operations
Budget. Estimated Purchase 8: Sale Agreement amount is $316,050.00 plus Washington
State Sales Tax; however, there is no guaranteed minimum order with the supplier.
(This is a supply Agreement).
Recommendation:
The Board is asked to award the Purchase 8: Sale Agreement by signing the
attached Memorandum and return to Public Works. Public Works will then process the
Agreement documents with the supplier and the Agreements will be brought back to
the Board for final execution.

CRS-2P (65 Ton): $575.00 per ton product + $76.00 per ton freight.
CSS-l (50% Dilute) (30 Ton): $295.00 per ton product + $76.00 per ton freight.
