Recommendation of Award of Contract for Pavement Marking on Jefferson
County Roadways for Calendar Years 2012.2013
Statement of Issue:
Public Works staff has completed checking bids opened on January 17, 2012 for Pavement Marking
on Jefferson County Roadways for Calendar Years 2012.2013 and finds It to be in the County's best
Interest to award a Contract to Apply-A-Line, Inc. of Pacific, WA at the amounts specified In their
bid.
Analysis/Strategic GoalslPro's B: Con's:
Bid Award Is consistent with the County's goals In that It provides for safety of the motoring public.
Signing of the Recommend of Award of Contract Memorandum authorizes the contract amount.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis:
Pavement marking services are Included In the 2012 Road Operations budget and 2013 expenditure
forecast. Estimated Contract amount over the two (2) year period Is $453,817.
Recommendation:
Public Works recommends the Board award the contract and authorize the Chair to sign and date the
attached Memorandum and return to Public Works. Public Works will then process the contract
documents with the contractor and the contract will be brought back to the Board for final
execution.

Public Works staffhas completed checking bids opened on January 17, 2012 to provide labor,
equipment and materials for Pavement Marking on Jefferson County Roadways for Calendar Years
2012 & 2013.
Public Works staff finds it to be in County's best interest to award the Contract per the Specifications
& Contract Documents to the lowest responsive bidder.
Public Works recommends award to:
Apply-A-Line, IDeo, Pacifie, W A
For the total two (2) year Bid Amount of $453.817
The Jefferson County Board of Commissioners approves bid award to the above-listed contractor.
