PL:BL/C' CU:YI:NF.,~'T PF.R/OD: The. following is a summary of cotmnents made by citizens in attendance at the meeting and rellcct their personal opinions: • A citizen updated the Board on activities that have occurred and that are scheduled in Quilcenc: • ;~ citizen spoke about the Jeftcrson County Noxious weed Control Board, the Upcn Public \~icetings Act :ntd reyuested the Board respond to previous reyuests :asking liar an ordinance banning the spraying of herbicides in County Rights of ~~ ay; • :~ citizen stated Executive Sessions should be recorded. the recordings would not be disclosed in response to a Public Records Request and minutes should reflect the names of citizens that speak as reyuested by the Board during a meeting: • A citizen stated they are ove*.lvhelmed with the idea of spraying poison to control weeds, the Puce[ Sound is dying and spraying poison shouldn't be allowed and our conununity should not be "following the money"; • A citizen stated over 140 species of plants arc listed on the State's Noxious \4'eed list and requested the Board approve an ordinance prohibiting the spray of herbicide in the County Rights of ~'r'av: • A citizen asked the Board how is it that i,~51 signamres of Jefferson Count<~ citizens and letters Crum oroanic farmers and food producers do not impact the adoption of a proposed no spray ordinance? • A citizen proposed signs to be installed on logging roads to attract tourism and stated a logging museum should be opened: there is a power su~u~gle among priva[e corporation and govertunent; and • A citizen reyuested to be scheduled on a future agenda and questioned how does one get scheduled for the Board's agcnda7 APPROVAL A.'~'D ADOPT/O:~` Of' CO:'SEA`T AGF_:VDA: Commissioner Sullivan moved to approve all the items on the Consent agenda as presented. Olympic Peninsula Senior Games Commissioner Ciorald Re[tcla stated this is the eighth year of the games which has grown tD include sixteen sports. Physical activities and card games arc offered. He handed out a list of sports that arc offered durin<< the game week. Cotttmissioner Johnson asked if there was a deadline for signing up for a sport'? dir. Kcttcla answered the deadline is determined by the specific sport commissioner. SSIO.'~': The Commissioners each provided updates un the following items: Chaimman Austin attended a presentation regarding net pens in Port r\ngeles fast ~m'eck. He will b~ attending a presentation regarding net pens and the relation to viruses (h}' .krhn Kerwin) and a meeting regarding the opening of the Ehvha River in Pmt Angeles nest week. The Board twill be holdins a special meeting on Thursday to meet with stafffrom the t,1'ashirgton State Association of Counties (WS:~C). Commissioner Sullivan trill he participating in a.joint quarterly meeting with the Kegional Transportation Planning Organizatior. (R'I PO), Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization (D~ffYO) and Washington State Department of Cranspottatiort (~fSDOTj via conference call and attending a Jefferson Transit meeting this week. Commissioner Johnson will be attending a Jefferson Transit meetingand participating in a Coastal Caucus conference call this week.
