Dear Ms. Herzog and Ms. Brotherton,
support by public agencies for the October 27
by Quilcene Conversations and a broad variety of
Jefferson County applauds this visioning and action-planning meeting by Quilcene residents.
Quilcene is a unique and important community in Jefferson County. The Board of County
Commissioners salute s the great strides the Quilcene community has made in the past several
years, and its continu ing efforts to chart its future as a desirable, vibrant and sustainable
community. Quilcene residents -indeed all citizens of Jefferson County -are enriched by the
success of this kind o f community building. Quilcene is already a leading example of what a
community can do to strengthen itself, chart a community vision, and then cooperate to
achieve it. The Quilc ene All-Community Meeting set for October 27 continues this process of
community self-empo werment. We support you in this effort, and wish you continued success.

Jefferson Health Care, Jefferson Transit, Port of Port Townsend, EDC Team Jefferson, WSU /Jefferson
Co. Extension, Public Utility District #1, Qullcene School District, and Fire District #2.-
We've been working hard to strengthen the ties among Quilcene citizens and the public agencies that
serve them. Especially in times of severe resource limitations, it's essential that citizens understand
what their government does and how.
By this letter we're asking your agency to express its support of this Quilcene AII-Community meeting.
a) Agree to have "Jefferson County" included on printed announcements of the meeting, under the
heading "These pu blic agencies support Quilcene's ali-community discussion on Oct. 27".
b) Have a representat ive of your agency attend the Oct. 27 meeting, if that's possible.
c) Meet our dedicated citizens and help them "know the face" of their government agencies.
d) Hear what our citiz ens say about their community projects and future plans.
e) Offer suggestions a nd answers if the community discussion turns to questions you /your agency can
answer.
We will not ask represe ntatives ofour government agencies to make presentations to the group, but we
will introduce you duri ng the meeting, and we will appreciate your knowledgeable input on topic
initiated by our citizens during their discussions.
We intend to prepare meeting announcements and printed flyers by this time next week. Please let us
know very soon that w e can include Jefferson County as a public agency supporting this Important
