SLBJECT: Advisory Board Appointment: Housing Action Plan Network; A Two (2) Year
Term Expiring October 21, 2014; Representing Higher Education, Laura
Lewis as Director of WSU and Representing Economic Development, Craig
Weir, as Team Jefferson.

Two advisory board appointments for Housing Action Plan Nehvork with two (2) yearterms expiring October 15, 2014:
Representing nigher education, Laura Lewis as Director of WSU and representing economic development, Craig Weir
of Team Jei'terson.
Phil Johnson, as a member of the HAPN representing the Board of County Commissioners, and Philip Morley, the
County Administrator, reviewed Laura Lewis and Craig b+/eir's letter of interest and recommend them to serve on the
HAPN committee.
Per the joint resolution of the Jefferson County BOCC, 28-08, and the Port Townsend City Council, 08-008,
appointments to HAPN are coordinated. Both appointments will be representing agencies already vetted through
county hiring/appointment and require no noticing per Jefferson County Resolution 28-08. Section 3.1 identifies that
the BOCC and City Council must both approve the appointment. The City of PT approved both appointments at the
September 17, 2012 City Council meeting.
The positions representing Higher Education and Economic Development are currently vacant.

Staff recommends the Board of County Commissioners appoint:
1. Laura Lewis, Director of WSU, to serve on HAPN representing higher education for a two year term expiring
October 15, 2014.
2. Craig Weir, Team Jefferson, to serve or. HAPN representing economic development for a nvo year term
expiring October 15, 2014.
