Chairman Austin attended x presentation regarding the hararcis of shelHish and a drug court graduation
last week. He will be alicndin a ceremony at Goddard a>Ilet~e this week.
Commissioner Sullivan attended a ~~larrowswne Island Comntunity meeting and art Lsit lntervie~m° with
the Nasitington State Auditor's Oflice f:?r Jefferson'fransit. He will be attending a Peninsula Re,ianal
I"ransportation Planning C)rganization (PRTPO) and Resource Conservation and Development (RCc~I))
meeting this week.
Commissioner Johnson atmottnced that a confi?renae will hc° nrc:nrring, ar I'nt1 \~ nrden that will attract
400 people.
The meeting was recessed at 9:59 a.m. and reconvened at 10:06 a.m with all three

Report Dpdute: ~~ ashington State Department of Natural Resources (DNK) Rogiona! Manager Sue
Trettevik explained that the information received from Conuuissioner Peter Goldtnark contained
informarion that did not include sales and the report being presented today is significantly cliffcrcnt to
rciicct con'ect information. llNR State Lauds Assistant Drew Rosanbalm will speak to staff in the office
in Oh•mpia to bring their attention to tktis matter.
\ir. Kosanbalm stated DNK's fiscal year 2012 is complete, ending .Tuly 1, 2012. The total income
through the second quarter of calendar year 20 i _' is $570,000. Prgjected revenue Ibr the full year is
approximatch $900,000 for the calendar year of 2012. Estimated net value under contract after
December is $1.G million.
Counh° Administrator Philip vforley asked if the excess of distribution is included in the numbers
reported? ti'fr. Rosanbalm answered the report includes timber sales enh~.
Mr. Rosanbalm stated there arc two remote pieces of DNR forest land on the boundary line of the
Olyrnpic Porest on the ~~'est End drat may not be accessible. _A4s. '17ettcvik stated that if the result is the
hvo pieces of prepertv are accessible. it may be concluded that then will be maintained as old forest

~~lr. Rosanbalm stated dte Coyle Ketreai property will be a Pcbntar}' (201 +) sale and is estimated at S1.5
million. The 2014 lisr<ti year plan is currently beine worked on and may be presented at the next
quarterly update.

State Department of Lbology' (DOE,) regarding the County's approach to eomnleting the Shoreline
\lastcr Program (SMP). Commissioner Sullivan stated that the word "pursue' used to explain the:

Commissioner .Tohnson disagreed with a statement in the Letter that stated the County is pursing the
option of in- water net pens [o obtain local control on the S1vIP. DOF is forcing the County to allow' the
in-evater net pens. Conunissioncr Suliivar. stated it is to keep control of other issues in the S\~iP.
Chairman ±lustin stated DOL• may change the entire S\4P ii ndcmaking occurs. Commissioner .lohnson
expressed his chagrin li>r DOF.'s process of ndemaking if the County does not allow in-water net pens.

diflicult choice kt..." Cotmnissioner Johnson stated he would like that statetneut to saw "...under protest,
the .Teflcrson County Board of Commissioners...'- County .-\dminisn-ator biorlev replied the statement
"under protest" is ahcady clear in the letter.
Conmtissioner Sullivan stated he supported attd moved to approve the letter with the changes discussed.
Chairan Austin seconded the motion County Administrator ~iorlev reviewed the changes discussed.
The motion carried by a unanimous vote, noting Commissioner Jolntson supported the motion under
protest.
