Minutes of October 5, 1977,were -approved with one correction. Under the Allen, and -
Helen -Shaw petition -,fora road vacation the motion -for approve was corrected to

Comprehensive Plan.and the Draft County Park, Recreation _-and Open Space Plan-','.

a County-rozid-al-ong-a=poriiion-of Gtiffith's Point- Road within -the unrecorded plat -of
Griffith's Poilnt. Attorneyflarry Holloway, representing ,the '.petitilotiorsj further
explained -the proposal.
Afterimembers-4iscussed the proposal, Norris Short moved to'--recommend,to the County-
-Commissioners they approve the petition under the.condition thattheroad be.brought
up to County standards; as a road -in this area would be -In complian'te with.,the
Comprehensive -Plan. William Svensson seconded the motion., Upon a vote it carried
unanimously.
PRELIMINARY LONG PLAT
A. Kala Point Preliminary Plat #3: Tom Aumock reviewed ,.,the plat -report, which
described the proposed division and stated Healthi- -Engineer and Pia

recommendations. Further; it described a requested vArfance;`..-to establish a- - private
rather than a public arterialroadknown as "Kalz Point Drive". And, it stated
variance.recommen-dations by -the Engineer and Planning Departments.
Members asked xala-Point Engineer William*Hendrfchs questions about open space,
-access, and underlying lot lines.
Rick Kenyon moved to recommend to thelCounty Commissioners they approve the prelim-.

Further' the requested variance be approved subject to department recommendations-.
Finis Stevens seconded the motion. Upon a -vote it carried unanimously.,.

unusual circumstance of the property -exists.

County Public Works.:Dfrector Ed Becker presented -toy ,the. �Corfnission the-"1978 Road
Program. Individual prajects were discussed,_ Further., estimated expepditures and
revenues were -reviewed.
George Burkhart moved to .recommend to the' County CoMi:0fonOrs- .they_ approve the

suggested copies.be made.and sent to members for their review.
-It was.agreed a Comprehensive Plan workshop -meeting should be hel4 November 22pd.
-It was noted the County wi1'l be contracting with the'City to do-speci_ftc planning
services, This would necessitate the" hiring of `'a -,Fourth :planner. b the 'lannifig,
Department.
