COMPREHENSIVE PLAN III. MISCELLANEOUS NOTE; This meeting was tape recorded and the tapes are on file with the Jefferson County Planning Department. I. OPENING BUSINESS Chairman Randolph called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. Members present were Karl Randolph, George Burkhart, Dorithe Farrington, Finis Stevens, Richard Kenyon, William'Svensson, Harry Pollard, Eva Taylor, and Norris Short. A quorum was declared by Chairman Randolph. Representing the Planning Department were Director David Cunningham and Secretary Laura Southmayd. Guests were Jefferson -Port Townsend Regional Council Planner David Goldsmith, Port Townsend Leader Reporter Robert Carson, County Engineer Ed Becker and his assistant Milt Sanstrom, and P.U.D. #1 Manager Ralph Anderson. II. COMPREHENSIVE PLAN Sections of Chapter 7, "Goals and Policies", reviewed were "Utilities" and "Trans- portion/Circulation". Each section was read by David Cunningham. Representatives from the Public Works Department and P.U.D. #1 answered members questions on these sections. It was agreed an additional policy should be made in the "Transportation/Circulation" section regarding acquisition or creation of a County road. III. MISCELLANEOUS -Norris Short reported on the Planning Association of Washington's Fall Conference, "A Short Course In Local Planning". He stated that the conference dealt with all aspects of local planning from the point of view of a planning commission member. Mr. Short further stated that the P.A.W. would be taking this short course in planning out to different areas in the state. The Commission agreed to sponser the first area -wide short course in planning sometime in early 1978. Norris Short was designated chairman of the hosting committee, and all other members agreed to help. IV. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m. V.
