WAaHINOTON 9a36a MINUTES OF APRIL 16, 1975 I. Opeining Business The meeting was called to order at 7:47 by Chairman. Norris -Short. Members present were Finis Stevens, Harry Pollard, Karl Randolph, Ed Wain- wright, Eva Taylor, and Chet Dalgleish. Planning Department staff present were David Cunningham and Tom Aumock. Guest present was Roger Lovitt. Land Surveyor. Minutes of April 2, 1975 were approved as mailed. II. Correspondence Legislative Bulletin BB22 on Commmity Corporations April; 1975.1etter ofi' Durant, Olympic 14ealth Sanitarian* requesting that the County require building permit applications for garages.. After discussion of Durants reasons for his request as outlined in his letter, Karl Randolph moved that the -County Commissioners be told that our recom- mendations- that,garages be exempted, remain unchanged, since they are only one of a nu er of items that gild interfere r th the function of disposal systems, and also that permits for garages would thus lead to.an impossible rogulato?ry situation. Wbtion seconded and._carri.ea by un *00 vats. In further discussion on the Building Code Commission members discus- sed the present new construction exemption of up to 50% of structure value. III. Miscellaneous Business Karl Randolph discussed a policy of the County Engineer's where former County Roads would be opened and maintained at the .request of a landowner. Mr. Randolph noted that there is an unknown amount of such "right-of'ways", and in this light, such a policy may cause -a backlog of problems. Mr. Randolph suggested that this subject be researched by the staff. Members concurred with this suggestion. Lq IV. New Business A. Hoh Rain Forest Preliminary Plat: Planning Director, Dave Cunningham presented the background of the conditional preliminary plat approval, noting that Mr. Harald Barandeberry, developer, has requested an extention of the twelve moixth approvjl period and also reconsideration of the conditions of approval. The Commission agreed to set May 7th as a meet- ing date to discuss Mr. Brandeberry's requests. B. Proposed Revisions to the Subdivision Ordinances.: Planning Director, Dave Cunningham presented a handout of draft revisions to.the Subdivision Ordinance (list attached to.the Official Record.).. leers received.the revisions. Karl Randolph moved to adopt the proposed exemption for deed releases with the addition "PROVIDED, this division is -no less than one acre". Finis Stevens seconded the motion. lotion carried by mumimous vote. After discussion of the remaining proposed revisions, Kara. Randolph moved that the Planning Commission recommend the proposed revisions as amended to the Board of Commissioners. lotion seconded -and carried by unanimous vote. V. Next Meeting Next meeting is the Public Hearing on the Preliminary Plat of "Rondelay Meadows" to be held Wednesday April•23, 1975 at 7:30 p.m. in the Jury Room. VI.
