MINUTES OF AUGUST 6, 1975
I. Opening Business
Chairman Norris Short called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m.
Members present were .Ed Wainwright, Fred Lester, Norris Short, Chet
Dalgleish, Harry Pollard, Finis Stevens and Eva Taylor.
Planning Department staff present were David Cunningham and Tom
Aumock.
Guests were Tom Date, Jack Cunningham, Ed Croom, Bill Hendricks
and Bob Newgaard.
Minutes of the July 2, 1975 meeting were approved with the additional
notation under the Hermitage public hearing that a field trip was
conducted on July 16th to "Hermitage" at Coyle.

II. Old Business
A. Public Hearing: Private Roads Variance for the Plat of "Kala Point".
Planning Director,Dave Cunningham, briefed members on private roads
section in the Subdivision Ordinance. Chairman Short read an August 1,
19:75 letter from the Kala Point Development Co. requesting a variance
to allow private roads.
Mr. Hendriks, project manager, noted that the roads will be constructed
and-mainti4ned to County standards.
Commission members were in agreement that the proposed private roads
meet the requirements of Section 8.50 of the Subdivision Regulations.
'et Dalgleish moved that the request for variance be approved subject
5 the following conditions"established by the Commission:

1. Construction 0 roads to Jefferson County standards and to the
satisfaction of the�Alefferson County Engineer.

2. Maintenangp,arrangements shall be to the satisfaction of
the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney.
3. Jefferson County shall be provided the option whJi
Kala,.P4int rave c n be reinstated as a public road i.. h
time at Jef ef9dn Kunty deems it necessary for area4*,
circulation.
4. Jefferson County Fire Protection District No. 6 shall.be
pravfded`full legal and practical access to al-1 roads within
the development.
Motion seconded by Ed Wainwridht. Motion carried by'unanimous vote
of the seven members present.
B. Planning Director Dave Cunningham presented members the final
plat of Kala Point and recapped the conditions of preliminary approval.
Mr. Hendricks presented specifically how each condition has been met.
Fred Lester moved that the Planning Commission make the finding that the.
conditions of preliminary approval have been met by the developer
and that such finding be presented to the Board of County Commissioners.
Finis Stevens seconded the motion. Motion carried by the unanimous
vote of seven members present.
C. Hermitage. Commission members had a fact finding session
regarding the Hermitage proposal and the standards of the Jefferson
County Camping Club Ordinance. Planning Director, Dave Cunningham,
read the Standards of the Camper Club Ordinance and read the
corresponding figures as -proposed by the project. Mr. Robert Newgaarda
was present and offered -details regarding the project proposals.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, August 20, 1975.
The meeting was adjourned,at 10:10 p.m.
