Jefferson County Planning Commission
Minutes of August 21, 1974 Workshop
I. 7:45 p.at. Chairman Norris Short called the meeting to order. No
quarum of ambers.
Ambers present were Fred Lester, Fred Houghton, FA Wainwright
Planning Staff: David Cunningham, Tom Annock
Guest: Randy Tyler
II. Minutes: Y nutes of July 14, 1974 were tabled
III. Correspondence: Pamphlet on a Course: *Dynamic --l"
Planning" on Sept. 4,5,6; Another Coarse, "Fore.. sting Alter-
mate Mures"; A ~idmw on, "Public Control of California Lad
Development"'; and the July 24 letter of the Planning Director to
John D. Swift.
IV. Old Business
A. Subdivision Ordinance status: Public comment will be taken
until: September 3, at which time the County Commissioners
will, adopt The Ordinance.
B.., Subdivision. Violations: Planning Director David CtanninghW
reviewed his letter. to John D. Swift regarding violations of
the State Subdivision Law.
c. Building Code: Board of County Commi4sioners have decided to
wait to see the Codes when they arrive before assigning re-
sponsibility for adoption.

D. Proprosed State Land Use Bill: David Cunningham presented
the literature received regarding the proposed Land Use Bill
that will be before the January lbasion of the State Legis—
lature. Be noted that interested parties may review the
literature at the Punning Deportment.
V. New or
A. Discussion of the Land Use Element for the Comprehensive P3AA
Update.
1.: On the topic of the Comprehensive Plan stated
that he favored ,just an update of the old version rather
than rewrite the document.
2. It was agreed by irs to take parts of the old version
that are not in e.n6w versixestonideare, that the updated
version has not excluded any essential portions of the
1968 plan.
3, limbers then discussed the new version. Section by Section.
VT. Norris noted that P. C. Elections will be the 1st meeting in Sept.
VII. Neat Workshop Meeting is September 4, 1974, at 7=30 p.m. in the
Jury Room.
