Minutes of December 18, 1974
I. 7:40 p.m. Chairman Norris Short called the meeting to order.
Members present: Fred Houghton, Ed Wainwright, Eva Taylor, Finis Stevens,
Fred Lester, KKarl Randolph, Chet Dalgliesh
Planning Department staff: David Cunningham., Tom Aumock
Guests: Ed Becker, County Engineer; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Croom; Bill H6ndricks,
Kala Point Project Consultant; Dick Stuer, Kala Point Project Consultant;
B.G. Brown, County Commissioner; Carrol Mercer$ County Commissioner - elect
Chairman Short dispensed with the adoption of the minutes of the previous
meeting and with correspondence.
II. Old Business
A. Kala Point Project Environmental -Impact Statement: Planning Director
David Cunningham noted that the Final E.I:S. for Kala Point had been
completed and is being circulated. He proceeded to outline the major
aspects.of the Final E:I.S.
B. Preliminary Plat of Kala Point: Planning Director David Cunningham
presented the Plat Report and concluded with the recommendations of
conditional approval made by -the Health, Public Works, and.Planning
Departments:.
After little discussion, Karl Randolph moved that the Planning Commission
recommend to the Board of County Commissioners that the proposed prelimin-
ary plat of Kala Point be given Preliminary Plat approval subject to the
conditions outlined in the Plat Report, together with the condition that the
Plat &_Olympic Heights be vacated prior to Final Plat approval..
III. New Business
A. 1975 Road Construction Program: County Engineer Edwin Becker presented the
1975 County Road Program to the Planning Commission. Pertinent subject,
discussed during the presentation was that of road identification signs.

Karl Randolph made a motion that the Planning Commission communicate to
the County Commissioners that the 1975 County Road Construction Program
appears -to be in consonance with the Comprehensive Plan, and that the
Commission make two commendations to the Board that (1) the progra;n for
providing trails for bixes, horses, and pedestrians -continue to have
emphasis; and .(2) that the Public Works Depairtment investigate the feasi—
bility of road marking and idontifi,cation.• Motion seconded. ziotion
carried unanimously,
IV. Reminder
County Commissioners meeting Monday, December 23, 1974 at 10:30 a.m.,
Public Hearing on Uniform Building Code.
