Subject: Local Agency Agreement Supplement It2 with the Washington State Department
of Transportation -Quinault South Shore Road M.P. 1.14 to M. P. 1.28

Statement of Issue: A Local Agency Agreement Supplement /t2 with the Washington State
Department of Transportation is necessary in order to obligate additional preliminary engineering
funds for the Quinault South Shore Road permanent repair.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's 8 Con's: Approximately 400 lineal feet of road embankment and a
portion of one lane was washed out by a January 12-18, 2010 Quinault River high-water event.
Emergency repair has been completed and an evaluation of permanent repair alternatives has been
conducted. This supplement provides an additional 523,000 for design, right of way and permitting
of a permanent repair.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: The total project cost is estimated at $1,357,300, and is
funded at 86.5% by the federal Highway Administration.
Recommendation: The Board is requested to sign the three original Local Agency Agreement
Supplement #2 documents. One fully executed original will be returned to the Board after execution
by the Washington State Department of Transportation.
