Subject: CALL FOR BIDS for Supply of Liquid Asphalt Products for
Bituminous Surface Treatment for Calendar Year 2013
Statement of Issue:
CALL FOR BIDS for Supply of Liquid Asphalt Products for Bituminous Surface
Treatment (BST) Program. The Call for Bids is required for publication for
procurement of products in accordance with RCW 36.32.240 i3 RCW 39.04.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's 8 Con's:
The liquid asphalt products are to be used by the Department of Public Works
Road Operations in the annual road preservation chip seal program.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis:
Purchase of liquid asphalt products is accounted for in the 2013 Department of
Public Works Road Operations Budget. The Engineer's Estimate value of the
contract is $418,000 plus Washington State Sales Tax.
Recommendation:
The Department of Public Works recommends the Board approve the Call for
Bids and authorize the Chair to sign the attached Call for Bids where indicated,
and return it to the Department of Public Works for publishing.

Washington, will receive SF.ALF.D RIDS t:x:
SUPPLY OF LIQUID ASPHALT PRODUCTS FOR BITUMINOUS SURFACE
TRF.ATMGNT (BST) FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2013
Bids will be received up un[i1 [hz hour of 9:30 a.m. i\ionday, January ~, 2013, at the office of the
County Commissioners, basement door of the Jel Person County Courthouse, 1320 ,Icfl~erson Street,
P.O. Box 1220, Port Townsend, \\'ashingtcm. 94368. Sealed bids «ill be opened and read publicly
at 10:00 a.m. or shortly therealter.
This bid is for a supply of liquid asphalt products fur use by the .Icfferson County Department of
Public \4'orks in the tuutual chip seal maintenance program on various county roadways in calendar
year 2013 in accordance with the General Contract Provisions and the W'SDOI' Standard
Specilications.
Bids shall be submitted in accordance with the Specilications and Contract llocumcnis on iilc at
[he otlicc of the Department of Public Works. Printed copies er electronic copies may be obtained
