HomeMy WebLinkAbout011413_ca04Department of Public Works O Consent Agenda Page 1 of 1 Jefferson County Board of Commissioners Agenda Request To: Board of Commissioners Philip Morley, County Administrator From: Frank Gifford, Public Works Director ~,~7 Agenda Date: January 14, 2013 Subject: Bid Award for 2013 Supply of Liquid Asphalt Products Statement of Issue: Public Works staff has completed checking the bids opened on January 7, 2013 for the 2013 Supply of Liquid Asphalt Products, and finds it to be in the County's best interest to award a Purchase & Sale Agreement to Albina Asphalt of Vancouver, WA for the amounts specified in their bid. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's It Con's: Bid Award is consistent with the County's goals in that it provides for maintenance of the County roads infrastructure. This product is used in the County's pavement surfacing and preservation program. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: Purchase of these materials is accounted for in the 2013 Road Operations Budget. Estimated Purchase a Sale Agreement amount is $418,000.00 plus Washington State Sales Tax; however, there is no guaranteed minimum order with the supplier. (This is a supply Agreement). Recommendation: The Board is asked to award the Purchase it Sale Agreement by signing and returning the attached Memorandum to Public Works for further processing. The Purchase >* Sale Agreement will then be returned to the Board for final execution. Public Works finds it to be in the County's best interest to award a Purchase & Sale Agreement per the General Contract Provisions to: Albina Asphalt of Vancouver, WA For the following unit bid prices: CRS-2P (500 Tons): $575.00 per ton of product plus $76.00 per ton for freight. CSS-1 (50% Dilute) (200 Tons): $295.00 per ton of product plus $76.00 per ton for freight. For an estimated value of $399,700.00, plus Washington State Sales Tax. The Jefferson County Board of Commissioners approves award of bid to the above-listed supplier.
