Subject: Bid Opening, Alder Creek Tributary Culvert Replacement, Upper
Hoh Road MP 2.15, Federal Aid Project No. ER-0801(025), County

Statement of Issue: Bid opening at 10:00 a.m. or shortly thereafter for the Alder
Creek Tributary Culvert Replacement, Upper Hoh Road M.P. 2.15, County Project No.
X01781.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's 8 Con's: This Bid Opening is for construction of the
new culvert at Alder Creek Tributary, which will be afish-passable, 25-ft. span,
precast, reinforced concrete 3-sided structure. This will replace the existing,
deteriorated 6-foot diameter metal culvert which is afish-passage barrier.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: The Engineer's Estimate is $633,069. This will
be funded at 86.5q by the Federal Highway Administration, with the remaining 13.5%
provided by the Rurdl Arterial Program (RAP) and the County Road Fund.
Recommendation: The Board is requested to open the bids and direct Public Works
to review the bids and make a recommendation for award.
