The "open interest" seat recently vacated by Phyllis Schultr expires next month. ANALYSIS/STRATEGIC GOALS/PRO'S and CON'S• Two vacancies on the CF Committee were advertised in the The Leaderon January 30, 2013. Raven expressed interest by the February 13 deadline. Conservation Futures Committee Chair John Wood, Vice Chair Rick Jahnke and committee staff reviewed Raven's application materials and interviewed him in person on March 4. We agreed that Raven possesses qualities and expertise that would benefit the work of the CF Committee. He is a widely published author, theatre director, composer, actor and long-time advocate for the preservation of Tamanowas Rock. Raven participated in the development of the county's Conservation Futures Program in its earliest days and has been a resident of Jefferson County for 18 years. He has an abiding interest in wildlife habitat conservation and would like to represent the interest "Natural Habitats" on the committee. Staff will re-advertise in order to fill the remaining open interest vacancy. FISCAL IMPACT/COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS• There is no fiscal impact to the county's General Fund for appointing Raven to serve on the committee.
