HomeMy WebLinkAbout032513_ra03Regular Agenda JEFFERSON COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST TO: Board of County Commissioners FROM: Carl Smith, Director of Community Development `~3~ DATE: March 25, 2013 SUBJECT: Department of Community Development (DCD) 2012 Annual Report ATTACHMENT: Power-point slides of presentation STATEMENT OF ISSUE: This is an opportunity to present highlights of DCD's activities during the year 2012, including building permits, land use planning approvals and on-going planning studies, as well as some results of DCD's program to improve its service delivery through a variety of measures. The presentation is for the information of the Board of County Commissioners and interested members of the public. ANALYSIS: Development activity is an indicator of economic conditions in the County and is of interest to the public. Available information collected by DCD will be used to compare activity in 2012 to past years for trends. During 2012, DCD has also instituted a number of changes to its procedures in order to improve permitting efficiency, improve customer service and maintain the best service delivery possible in the face of reduced staff and work hours, due to economic conditions. A recap of measures taken will be identified. The presentation will be in the form of a "Power-Point" presentation. Slides of this presentation are attached. FISCAL IMPACT: None.
