SUBJECT: RESOLUTION NO. re: HEARING NOTICE: Proposed
Formation of Park & Recreation District; Master Planned Resort of Port
Ludlow; Hearing scheduled for Monday, July 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the
Commissioners Chambers
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
A petition has been submitted to establish a Parks and Recreation District within the area described as the
Master Planned Resort of Port Ludlow. This petition was certified by the Jefferson County Auditor's
Office.
ANALYSIS:
Per RCW 36.69.040 the Commissioners must hold a public hearing and determine the boundaries of the
proposed Parks and Recreation District. The hearing notice will be published in the Leader on June 19 and
26, and July 3, 2013.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve resolution and publish a notice setting a heazing for July 8, 2013 @ 10:00 a.m. in the
Commissioners Chambers.

Specified Area in Port Ludlow, and }
Setting A Public Hearing Date }
WHEREAS, on the 7th day of June, 2013, the Jefferson County Auditor submitted a
petition, together with a certificate of sufficiency attached thereto, to the Board of
Jefferson County Commissioners, far the establishment of a Park and Recreation District
to be located within the Master Planned Resort of Port Ludlow; and,
WHEREAS, upon receipt of such petition, it is the duty of the County Commissioners to
fix a day and hour when they will publicly hear the petition, as provided in RC W
36.69.040; and,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Jefferson County
Commissioners hereby acknowledges receipt of a petition for the formation of a Pazk and
Recreation District, to be located within the Master Planned Resort Port Ludlow, and sets
the day of July 8, 2013, at the hour of 10:00 a.m., at which time a public hearing will be
held in the Commissioners' Chambers, Courthouse, Port Townsend, Washington, for the
purpose of taking both oral and written testimony from all interested persons either for or
against the formation of said District.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT
Notice is hereby given that pursuant to Resolution No. Fill in Number, adopted by the
Board of Jefferson County Commissioners on June 17, 2013, a public hearing will be
held on Monday, July 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Commissioners' Chambers,
Courthouse, Port Townsend, Washington for the purpose of taking written oral testimony
either for or against the formation of a Park and Recreation District, or the proposed
boundary described as the Master Planned Resort of Port Ludlow.
