RE: Appointment of Frank Gifford as Interim County Administrator August 20 —
24, 2013 during absence of County Administrator
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Appoint Central Services Director Frank Gifford as Interim County
Administrator during the County Administrator's planned vacation, expected to be August 20 —
24, 2013.
ANALYSIS: Occasionally the County Administrator may be away from the office for brief
periods of time, and it is appropriate to appoint an Interim County Administrator to fill in as and
if needed. Jefferson County Code Section 2.01.060(2) requires that the Board of County
Commissioners appoint the Interim County Administrator, and that they do so at a public
meeting.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: Pass a motion appointing Central Services Director Frank Gifford as
Interim County Administrator during the County Administrator's planned vacation in August,
expected to be August 20 -24, 2013.
